An official of the Nishtar Hospital in Multan has been dismissed from service after a report of an incident of ill-treatment of a patient’s family by a doctor came to light.
Patient Shamim Akhtar had been taken to the Accident and Emergency Department of the hospital on December 18 and diagnosed with a chronic liver disease. The senior registrar on duty supervised the treatment, during which an argument started between the doctors and the patient’s family members who misbehaved with the doctors, which led to a fight.
