MURREE:
The Democratic Group won the annual elections of the District Bar Association Murree with a huge majority. Advocate Imran Abbasi was elected as the President, while Advocate Sardar Yasir was elected as the General Secretary. Celebration and fireworks followed their victory.
The elections of the District Bar Association Murree were completed in a peaceful atmosphere under the supervision of the Chairman of the Election Board, Senior Lawyer Raja Abdul Rehman. A total of 82 lawyers were eligible for voting in the 2025-2026 elections of the District Bar Murree. Out of the total 82 votes of the bar, a total of 76 votes were polled and one vote was rejected. Imran Abbasi got 45 votes for the presidency seat, while his opponent Sardar Masood Abbasi got 30 votes.
Sardar Yasir won by getting 47 votes for the General Secretary post. His opponent Gul Aftab Abbasi got 28 votes. Raja Nasir Advocate got 47 votes for the Joint Secretary post. His opponent Anwar Ishraq Abbasi got 28 votes. Secretary Library Noman Abbasi got 48 votes, while his opponent Muhammad Adeel got 27 votes. Vice President elect Advocate Sardar Ishtiaq Abbasi and Advocate Deba were elected unopposed to the women’s seat.
With the announcement of the results by the Election Board, the Democratic Group celebrated the victory by doing bhangra and raising slogans.
