ISLAMABAD:
In a bid to promote healthy activities, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to allocate land for cycling tracks and a sports complex within the Diplomatic Enclave and immediately begin their construction. The plan also includes building a modern, fully equipped event hall, establishing food courts, and setting up various kiosks.
The decision was taken during a recently held meeting chaired by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa at CDA Headquarters. The meeting was attended by CDA Board Member Administration and Estate Talat Mehmood, Member Planning Dr Khalid Hafeez, Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, Member Environment Asfandyar Baloch, DG Resource, DG Building Control and Housing, Deputy DG Enforcement, Director DMA, and other senior officials.
The meeting reviewed development and beautification plans for the Diplomatic Enclave, including shopping and sports facilities, road infrastructure upgrades, horticulture works, eco-friendly tree plantation, attractive landscaping, improved parking arrangements, modern lighting, and enhanced security measures.
It was decided to redesign entry and exit gates, install CCTV cameras, link the security system with the Safe City network, and strengthen the monitoring mechanism.
The CDA chairman directed landscaping and tree plantation along the enclave’s roads to make it one of the most attractive parts of Islamabad. He emphasised that upgrading the Diplomatic Enclave would enhance the capital’s beauty and ordered faster execution of work while ensuring high standards. He added that all available resources are being utilised to transform Islamabad into a well-organised city of international standards.
