HYDERABAD:
The Accountability Court No 1 has completed the cross-examination of another prosecution witness in the corruption reference against Sindh Irrigation Minister Jam Khan Shoro, Hyderabad Mayor Kashif Ali Shoro, and several others.
The case involves the alleged illegal allotment and encroachment of government land, reportedly causing losses of billions of rupees to the national exchequer.
During the proceedings, Minister Jam Khan Shoro and Mayor Kashif Ali Shoro — both on bail — appeared in the court along with other co-accused, while one of the accused was produced from Hyderabad Central Jail under custody. NAB Special Prosecutor Ghaus Bux Kehri represented the prosecution.
Asghar Memon, Additional Director of Planning and Development Control at the Hyderabad Development Authority (HDA), submitted original documents pertaining to the case and recorded his testimony.
