RAWALPINDI:

Under the petrol and energy saving programme, regular court hearings will not be held for two days starting Friday.

District and Sessions Judge Rawalpindi Nasir Hussain has appointed duty judges across the district for Friday and Saturday.

At the Judicial Complex Rawalpindi, four additional district and sessions judges and ten civil judges will serve as duty judges. In the district’s other four tehsils, one additional district and sessions judge has been appointed in each tehsil as duty judge.

These judges will be authorised to hear only urgent cases including bail, unlawful detention and physical or judicial remand matters during the two days.

With Sunday already being a holiday, regular hearings will remain suspended for these two days.

Accused persons will also not be produced in courts from Adiala Jail during this period.

For urgent sessions cases in Rawalpindi district, Additional District and Sessions Judges Khurshid Anjum, Rana Sohail, Shams Hasnain and Ikramul Haq will serve as duty judges.

For tehsil courts, Basit Aleem will serve in Gujar Khan, Waseem Rafiq in Taxila, Jahangir Ali in Kallar Syedan, and Khurshid Alam in Kahuta.
