Five people were injured during a clash between two groups near the Gharibabad railway crossing on Sunday.

The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Azizabad Police Station, where residents of makeshift huts and people from a nearby residential area got into a fight, resulting in injuries to five people, including a woman.

Police said that during the clash, enraged individuals set fire to the huts, burning down five of them completely. A fire tender reached the spot and brought the blaze under control.

According to police, the injured stated that some boys from the nearby residential area used to come to the huts for drug use, which the hut residents objected to. When they were stopped, a fight broke out.

The injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical treatment. Police identified the injured as 34-year-old Allah Wasia, 35-year-old Khalid, 48-year-old Noor Jahan, 50-year-old Imtiaz, and 55-year-old Dar Naz. All were said to be out of danger.

Police further said that investigations into the incident have begun, while a search is underway for those responsible for setting the huts on fire.
