BLACKPINK are set to return as a full group with their third mini-album ‘Deadline’ in Februrary
BLACKPINK are set to return as a full group with the release of their third mini-album, Deadline, scheduled for 27 February, their agency YG Entertainment confirmed on Wednesday.
The upcoming release will be BLACKPINK’s first album in three years and five months, following their second full-length album Born Pink in 2022.
Although the group released the digital single “Jump” in July last year, much of the intervening period was dedicated to solo projects, with all four members pursuing individual music, fashion and acting ventures while maintaining the group’s international profile.
YG Entertainment confirmed the comeback through a teaser video and motion graphics shared across official channels, featuring the group’s signature colour palette.
The album title, Deadline, aligns with BLACKPINK’s current world tour of the same name, which began in July with a landmark performance at Goyang Stadium, making them the first K-pop girl group to headline the venue. The tour has since travelled through major cities across Asia, Europe and North America.
According to the agency, key production work on the album, including music video filming, was completed some time ago. The release date was adjusted to allow additional time to refine the final output. “We sincerely thank fans who have waited patiently,” YG said in a statement. “We will repay that trust with music of the highest quality.”
BLACKPINK’s return arrives during a busy period for the K-pop industry and precedes other high-profile releases expected later in the spring including BTS.
Ahead of the album launch, the group will conclude their world tour with three performances at Tokyo Dome from February16 to 18 , followed by the final shows at Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong from February 24 to 26.
