She shares a strange Ramazan night when she woke up frozen, saw her own reflection
Renowned Pakistani actress and TV host Javeria Saud surprised viewers after sharing a personal story about an unsettling experience she believes may have involved a jinn
Recently, a clip from Express News’ special Ramazan transmission has been going viral in which Javeria Saud narrates a story about a jinn that left viewers astonished.
Saud said that when she is not hosting Ramadan transmissions, she spends her time in I’tikaf. During Ramazan, before going to sleep, she usually puts on the recitation of a surah from the Holy Quran so that she can hear it even while sleeping.
She recalled that one night, around the 12th or 13th fast, Surah Al-Baqarah was playing when she suddenly woke up. She said her arms and legs were completely immobile, and she was sweating heavily even though it was a very cold winter night, since Ramadan used to fall in winter at that time.
She further explained that when she woke up, she saw herself looking back at her, even wearing the same scarf she had on. She wanted to speak but could not. Then the reflection spoke in a man’s voice, mentioning a name like “Sulaiman bin Dawood”, and said: “He has sent me. Tell me, what do you want?”
The host said that she began reciting Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Nas in her heart because she could not speak. The sentence was repeated, and when it was said for the third time, she had finished reciting Ayat ul-Kursi. After that, the apparition suddenly disappeared and she felt a current-like sensation, as if something passed through her body and exited from her feet.
She added that she was fully conscious and drenched in sweat. She then got up and performed wudu, however, she said that to this day she still does not understand what exactly happened.
The clip also sparked debate online, with many social media users offering their own interpretations of her experience. Some viewers suggested that the symptoms described — including temporary inability to move, sweating, and seeing figures — resemble sleep paralysis, a condition that can occur when a person wakes up while the body is still in a state of sleep.
