Price of petrol to continue at Rs253.17 per litre; diesel will remain at Rs257.08 per litre, effective from January 16
The federal government has announced that prices of petroleum products will remain unchanged for the next fortnight, according to an official notification issued on Wednesday.
Under the new notification, the price of petrol will continue at Rs253.17 per litre, while diesel will remain at Rs257.08 per litre, effective from January 16. The Petroleum Division said the decision to maintain current rates reflects ongoing monitoring of international oil markets and domestic supply conditions.
On January 1, the government had announced a reduction in the prices of petroleum products, offering relief to the public on the New Year. The price of petrol was reduced by Rs10.28 per litre, bringing the new price to Rs253.17 per litre.
Additionally, the price of high-speed diesel was slashed by Rs8.57 per litre, with the new price set at Rs257.08 per litre. The Petroleum Division issued a notification confirming these changes, stating that the new prices will be effective from midnight tonight and will remain in place until January 15, 2026.
