ISLAMABAD:
The Islamabad High Court Bar Association has issued an official statement expressing concern over the situation after the entry points of the capital were closed due to the protest of a religious group.
The statement said that the access of esteemed lawyers to the courts has been severely affected due to the closure of all entry points of Islamabad.
According to the statement, it became difficult for lawyers to appear for cases due to the closure of the routes, so the esteemed judges of the courts were requested not to issue any adverse order if any case could not be heard due to the absence of a lawyer.
The statement was issued by the Acting Secretary of the Islamabad High Court Bar Association, Advocate Muhammad Imran Ashfaq, in which an appeal has also been made to the administration to immediately remove the obstacles hindering the movement of citizens and lawyers so that the court proceedings can continue as usual.
The Bar Association further emphasized that ensuring unhindered access to courts is vital for the protection of citizens’ constitutional right to justice. It urged the authorities to coordinate with law enforcement agencies to maintain both security and judicial accessibility, stressing that prolonged restrictions could disrupt the legal process and delay the dispensation of justice.
