Hailee Steinfeld has confirmed that Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is officially back in active production, providing the first concrete update on the long-delayed animated sequel.
The actress, who voices Gwen Stacy, shared the news during a recent interview with Variety, giving fans reassurance that the highly anticipated conclusion to the Spider-Verse trilogy is moving forward.
“We’re into it,” Steinfeld said, confirming her ongoing work on the project. She described the recording sessions as dynamic and creative, noting that the filmmakers experiment with multiple takes to perfect every line. “They probably have a whole library of ways I’ve said my co-star’s name,” she joked, adding that the process has been “crazy and fun.”
The update marks a significant development for Beyond the Spider-Verse, which faced repeated delays following the release of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. That film ended on a major cliffhanger, leaving audiences waiting for the final chapter in Miles Morales’s multiversal story.
According to reports, the upcoming film will conclude the acclaimed animated trilogy, with Shameik Moore returning as Miles Morales and Steinfeld reprising her role as Spider-Woman.
Sony Pictures Animation has confirmed the release date for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse as June 18, 2027.
