KARACHI:
The spokesperson for the Karachi mayor and Parliamentary Leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), responding to the recent criticism, highlighted the ongoing development initiatives and public welfare projects in the city.
The spokesperson, Karamullah Waqasi, stated that the Sindh government and municipal leadership are working tirelessly to provide basic facilities to citizens, and that positive results will soon become visible. He claimed that significant progress has been made in urban infrastructure, road rehabilitation, drainage systems, park development, and other essential services. This year, he said, is dedicated to development, with Rs75 billion allocated for Karachi’s development projects. He expressed confidence that citizens will witness tangible improvements in the coming months, leading to an overall better quality of life.
About recent fatalities caused by heavy rains and unforeseen natural events, Waqasi noted that despite Eid holidays, KMC staff remained fully active in serving the public. He pointed out that work on major projects, including the Azeempura Flyover, continued uninterrupted even during Eid.
