Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Sunday exchanged views on Middle East tensions, calling for an immediate end to hostilities and the resolution of all differences through dialogue and diplomacy during a telephone conversation.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) today, the two leaders exchanged views on the latest regional developments, particularly the ongoing hostilities in Iran and the Gulf region.
“Both leaders called for an immediate end to hostilities and the resolution of all differences through dialogue and diplomacy,” it said.
The statement said that the two leaders also extended greetings on the occasion of Eidul Fitr.

“During their warm and cordial conversation, the prime minister conveyed Eidul Fitr felicitations to the Indonesian president and the brotherly people of Indonesia,” the statement read.
According to the PMO, the sentiments were warmly reciprocated by the Indonesian president, while both leaders prayed for peace and harmony for the people of their respective countries, as well as for the Muslim Ummah.
“The prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s desire to further strengthen its historic and fraternal ties with Indonesia and expressed his firm resolve to expand bilateral cooperation in all spheres of mutual interest,” it added.
Earlier, the prime minister held telephonic conversations with Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim, Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, extending Eidul Fitr greetings and discussing regional developments.
The PM urged de-escalation in the Gulf and the Middle East as he discussed the current conflict with the leaders of Malaysia, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
