The United States has launched a major airstrike on Iranian military installations on Kharg Island, with US President Donald J. Trump claiming that American forces “totally obliterated” key targets during what he described as one of the most powerful bombing raids ever conducted in the Middle East.

According to truthsocial.com, Trump said the attack was carried out by United States Central Command under his direct orders. According to the president, the operation targeted military facilities located on Kharg Island, a strategic Iranian outpost in the Persian Gulf.

“Moments ago, at my direction, the United States Central Command executed one of the most powerful bombing raids in the history of the Middle East and totally obliterated every military target in Iran’s crown jewel, Kharg Island,” Trump said.

Kharg Island serves as the backbone of Iran’s oil export network and has historically handled the vast majority of the country’s crude shipments. Because of its proximity to the Strait of Hormuz, the island also sits near one of the world’s most critical maritime trade routes through which a significant share of global oil supplies passes.

Trump emphasised that the United States deliberately avoided striking Iran’s oil infrastructure on the island despite its strategic importance. “Our weapons are the most powerful and sophisticated that the world has ever known, but for reasons of decency, I have chosen not to wipe out the oil infrastructure on the island,” he said.

However, he issued a stern warning to Tehran regarding any attempt to disrupt international shipping lanes in the region. “Should Iran, or anyone else, do anything to interfere with the free and safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, I will immediately reconsider this decision,” the president stated.

The strike comes amid escalating hostilities between the United States, Israel and Iran following a series of military confrontations across the Middle East. Trump reiterated Washington’s long-standing position that Iran must never obtain nuclear weapons.

“Iran will never have a nuclear weapon, nor will it have the ability to threaten the United States, the Middle East, or the world,” he declared.

International observers warn that the attack on Kharg Island — a critical node in global energy markets — could intensify regional tensions and raise concerns over potential disruptions to oil supplies and maritime security in the Gulf.
