LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has established a new committee to oversee the national selection process and implement reforms in domestic cricket. The move comes amid ongoing structural changes aimed at improving the country’s cricketing framework.
The committee’s dual mandate includes monitoring selection decisions and proposing reforms to strengthen domestic competitions. Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed and ex-Test cricketer Sikander Bakht have been named among its members, bringing experience and insight into decision-making.
With reports suggesting that tenure of Aleem Dar, Azhar Ali, and Asad Shafiq as selectors is coming to an end, the PCB is expected to announce a new selection panel soon. Additionally, coaching roles within the national setup remain under review. With interim red-ball head coach Aqib Javed now serving as Director of High Performance, the PCB is considering appointing a new full-time red-ball head coach.
