QUETTA:
A moderate earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale jolted Balochistan’s Khuzdar district and surrounding areas on Thursday, though no casualties or damage were reported.
According to the Seismological Centre, the quake struck at a depth of 11 kilometres, with its epicentre located about 45 kilometres north of Khuzdar.
Initial reports indicated that tremors were clearly felt across Khuzdar city, nearby villages and adjoining areas, prompting people to rush out and gather in open spaces.
District administration and local police officials said no loss of life or property had been reported so far.
