ISLAMABAD:

A team of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is arriving in Pakistan on Wednesday (today) to begin discussions on the third economic review under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) programme, focusing on fiscal performance, structural reforms and compliance with agreed policy conditions.

According to officials of the Finance Ministry, the IMF review mission will stay in Pakistan until March 11 to evaluate economic indicators and review progress under the loan arrangement. They said the first phase of talks will take place in Karachi, followed by detailed negotiations in Islamabad.
