Heeseung will be leaving the K-pop group ENHYPEN as the group prepares to continue its activities with six members, according to an official statement released by agency BELIFT LAB on March 10.
The company shared the announcement with fans, known as ENGENE, explaining that the decision followed extensive discussions about the group’s future direction and the individual goals of its members.
“Hello, this is BELIFT LAB,” the statement began. “We would like to express our gratitude toward ENGENE for their unwavering support for ENHYPEN and provide information on ENHYPEN’s future activities.”
The agency said it had spent considerable time evaluating the next phase of the group’s career. According to the statement, conversations with the members highlighted Heeseung’s personal ambitions as an artist.
“BELIFT LAB has given much thought and consideration into ENHYPEN’s future direction and goals,” the company said. “Through in-depth discussions with each of the members about the future they envision and the direction of the team, it became clear that Heeseung has his own distinct musical vision and we have decided to respect it.”
“As such, Heeseung will be parting ways with ENHYPEN, and ENHYPEN will continue official activities henceforth as a group of six members.”
BELIFT LAB acknowledged that the news may come as a surprise to fans and noted that the decision followed a lengthy internal process. “It’s difficult to relay the whole process through a short notice, but this decision comes after extensive deliberation,” the statement read.
The agency added that both the group and Heeseung would move forward with new plans while remaining connected to their supporters.
“ENHYPEN remains committed to sharing energetic performances with ENGENE,” the company said. “Heeseung will be preparing a solo album as an artist under BELIFT LAB.”
The statement concluded with a message encouraging continued support from fans. “We ask for ENGENE’s continued love and support for ENHYPEN and Heeseung as they start a new chapter of their journey.”
