LAHORE: County Championship leaders Nottinghamshire will have Mohammad Abbas available for the entire summer after the Pakistan seamer agreed to extend his stay mid-season.
Initially set to miss four championship matches in June and July, Abbas will now remain with the squad throughout the campaign. The 35-year-old pacer, who has previously played county cricket for Leicestershire and Hampshire, has been instrumental in Nottinghamshire’s strong start, reported BBC.
With 16 wickets in his first three matches, he has helped put his team 10 points clear at the top of Division One. Expressing his enthusiasm for the extended stint, Abbas stated, “We have started the season really well, so I will be doing everything I can to make sure that carries on for the rest of the summer.”
