Security across the provincial capital remained on high alert during the Eidul Fitr holidays with police intensifying vigilance at recreational spots and key public areas while launching a wide-ranging crackdown against law violators.

According to officials, authorities ensured enhanced deployment to safeguard citizens at important locations across the city.

Simultaneously, strict action was taken against individuals involved in dangerous and unlawful activities, including one-wheeling, aerial firing, public display of weapons and alcohol consumption.

Police registered 29 cases against 35 suspects for one-wheeling, a hazardous practice often witnessed on festive occasions. In actions against firing, 10 individuals were booked in seven cases, and four pistols were seized.

The crackdown on the display of weapons led to the registration of 26 cases, with officials seizing 22 pistols, two rifles, a shotgun and hundreds of bullets.

To maintain order

and ensure public safety, the police set up pickets on major roads across

the city.
